I have a samsung dlp 61" model HLT6187SAX/XAA. It was purchased in December 2007 after it came out in November 2007.
Problem: it now flashes blue every 2 or three seconds. The picture is clear but seems to have lost red because it has a greenish/blueish color.

Per Samsung help center:
1. Tried adjusting color, contrast
2. disconnected/reconnect all cables and wires.
3. input directly and only from cable
4. left tv off for 24 hours

turned on tv after all of the above and after 5 minutes or sooner it started flashing and picture is still greenish/blueish.

anybody have any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

I own a HL-R5678W DLP television and after being on for about twenty minutes an annoying sound will come out from the back of it. There is no color change or any visual problems with the picture. Is this the color wheel? The sound began when I installed a surround sound system in that shakes the walls. Could a fan or even the color wheel had its axis changed slightly by the copious amounts of bass to cause this obtrusive sound? What can cure this sound? After I turn the TV off the sound stops in about 5 to 10 seconds.

Thank you.

The unit simply freezes up on an isolation picture. The audio still works and you can change the cable chanels but the picture remains black and white "Freeze Frame". You can shut the unit off, let the fan cycle down, and once you hear the clicking reset turn the TV back on and get a full good picture until the next eppisode occures.

Anyone have any experience with this problem on their DLP Samsaung? Is it the cable signal spiking or the TV unite failing. If it's the TV what are the likely solutions and associated repair expenses to anticipate. Is it worth fixing or not?

It was very easy to replace but when I up everything together the TV would start up normally with it's sounds(beeps). The fans all went on but the lamp and color wheel would not turn on. I was not able to turn the TV off with the remote or the switch on the side of the TV, so I had to unplug it to turn it off. I though I might have gotten a bad color wheel so I tried placing the old color wheel back inti the TV and still have the same problem. Thanks

Thanks

Oh, forgot to mention the site in general for adults. Do not consider my message as spam, or insult your forum.

Flip Video Camera Slows The Computer

http://www.consumermeet.com/items/flip-video-camera-slows-the-computer/

I have owned my Flip Video for 6 months, and today ...it went kaput! The side switch for turning on/off the Flip just broke beyond repair.
As those of you who own a Flip camera know, the side On/Off button is an indurated button that goes in and out of the camera when you pres sit on or off. The constant pushing on it, makes it vulnernable to breakage. Mine broke.

I tried re- fitting it, as in attempting to get the silver-colored On/Off button to fall back into the socket... but it did not work.

The Flip video quality is good, and I have used it to take more than 200 videos, most of them are about 30 minutes long, the shortest is about 9 minutes, and the longest was 1 hour and 15 minutes. Loading the Flip video on my DELL desktop computer (bought it in 2004) is a slow painstaking process. I backed up all my videos, and I eliminated (deleted) a lot of the Flip Video files...but my computer is still slow especially and only when I load the Flip camera..boy does it get slow. It took me more than 7 hours "create" a movie from a 45 minute video shoot. Sending Emails of the videos is also a hassle and a long delay too. Posting to You Tube has also been a long delay. Any suggestions? I am still going to buy a Flip-video camera to replace the one that just went kaput after 6 months of use.

I guess the wear and tear did it for my Flip Video. I have one of the first to come out on the market, and the Flip video camera color is White. As you use your Flip more and more, it starts to eat away at the double AA batteries faster. The Flip video camera is still a good buy for $200.00 dollars plus tax, and you can get 2 hours of video that is good quality. I wish the manufacturers would make the On/Off button more durable, and I hope they put it out side the camera the way it appears on our cell phones or digital tape recorders. It's a nice compact camera. Too bad mine broke. Anybody know where I can get another one in Red, like new, for less than $200 dollars? Thanks for reading this.

I had the dreaded white dot problem with my Samsung DLP 42". They were very good about getting some one out to fix my problem for free. The problem was the "tech" was not what you would call knowledgeable. Screws were left laying loose inside the set. Wrong screws in the wrong spots. The mirror chip that he replaced cracked (either due to it being defective, or the "tech" tightening it down to tight. All the parts that come from Sanmsung have a 90 day warranty. No one told me. I paid a local TV repair shop $262 to get the problem fixed right. Don't let Samsung or whoever they send out to "fix" your set fool you. If something goes wrong right away after a Samsung fix, press the issue. I'd bet 95% of the time it's their fault. Now the question is will the "tech" they send out on the second call admit to responsibility. It was a battle, but I did get the part replaced by Samsung. My local guy took the price of the part off the bill and only charged labor. He didn't have to do that. The part came to me a week after he finished the repair. I took it to his shop and he gave me the price he charged for the part. It's nice to see integrity somewhere in this business.

TV would not come on, no picture or sound, leds on front of tv were OK so it had power. I tried several times unplugging the plug strip that the TV and other components are plugged into to reset the TV, and that did no good. I then unplugged the TV power from the plug strip for a minute or so and that reset and everything is working good. Do the other components tied to the plug strip have some residual power that was preventing the reset when I unplugged the strip??
Thanks

I replaced the bulb. If I leave it off for a while, it will power on and show a beautiful picture. But then after 4-5 minutes the lamp goes off. All the fans continue and apparently the TV attemps to restart only to have all three indicator lights to come on. I opened the unit and held the lamp switch down and the unit does the same thing. What should I replace next?

DLP Color Wheel Question

Greetings:
Our 2004 vintage Samsung DLP, now apparently an electronics dinosaur, is now giving us just a black white picture whether watching satellite or DVD. Suspect the color wheel is gone as we've also got a noticeable hum. Can you direct me to reliable suppliers for a color wheel? I'll figure out the model number if I know that's the direction I'm headed in. Depending upon cost, I may be stretching to get a new LCD TV and just ditch the Samsung. I've been through bulbs for this Samsung and my replacement set, if I go that direction likely won't be Samsung.
