Well over 100 people have commented on my post about changing your own Samsung DLP colorwheel. In all the feedback is a wealth of tips and tricks. I thought I'd capture and condense them here... The dreaded blue-white wire that goes to the colorwheel: You cannot be careful enough removing it. I was able to get it out by prying it with...

Samsung HL-R5678W DLP TV

Hello. I own a HL-R5678W DLP television and after being on for about twenty minutes an annoying sound will come out from the back of it. There is no color change or any visual problems with the picture. Is this the color wheel? The sound began when I installed a surround sound system in that shakes the walls. Could a fan or even the...

50" Samsung HLN5065WX/AA tv

My samsung 50" DLP started "Freeze Framing" in black and white. The unit simply freezes up on an isolation picture. The audio still works and you can change the cable chanels but the picture remains black and white "Freeze Frame". You can shut the unit off, let the fan cycle down, and once you hear the clicking reset turn the TV back on...

DLP Samsung HL-R4667W TV lamp wont come on

Scot, Before my TV (DLP Samsung HL-R4667W, about 3yrs old) went blank, it shut itself off every other day or so, but would come back on when I re-powered it. A few days ago I heard a popping sound and the TV just turned itself off and couldn't be started again. I replaced the lamp, although it looked good to me, but to no avail. I had...

Samsung DLP Color Issues (Help Needed)

Hello, I am having trouble with my Samsung DLP TV (HLR4677WX/XAA). About 4 weeks ago, I had to replace the bulb (it was actually shattered when I removed it). Another Samsung Lamp Question

I replaced the lamp in my HL-R4667W. It turned on no problem, watched it for 2 hours last night. Today after about 1 hour it turned off and the lights are blinking on front again. Can a bad ballast cause the lamp to go out? What about the cooling fan how can I check that? Thanks for any help.

Replace the Ballast on your Samsung DLP

WARNING: Before doing any work on your television, make sure that it is unplugged and has not been in operation for more than 1 hour to allow the lamp to cool down. Do you have a noisy DLP Television?

Most people who own a DLP Television that has become noisy think that it is a noisy fan. It makes perfect sense. Clearly the noise is being made by something spinning. More often than not, however, the noise is caused by the television's color wheel -- the OTHER thing in a DLP TV that spins. The color wheel, pictured above, is a small...
