SAMSUNG DLP TV 43

MY DLP TV PICTURE WAS GETTING DIM SO I REPLACED THE LAMP. WHEN I TURNED IT BACK ON IT MADE A HIGH PITCHED WHINE AND A SCRAPING NOISE.I THEN REPLACED THE COLOR WHEEL. AFTER I PUT EVERYTHING BACK TOGETHER AND TRIED TO TURN ON THE TV IT STARTS UP LIKE IT SHOULD BUT THE LAMP NEVER TURNS ON. IT MAKES 3 ATTEMPTS AT THIS THEN I GET 3 BLINKING LIGHTS. I THOUGHT I MISSED A WIRE CONNECTION AND TOOK IT APART SEVERAL TIMES AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS OR LO0SE WIRES. THE LAMP IS NEW AND THE OLD ONES STILL ACTUALLY WORKS BUT IT IS JUST DIM. COULD IT BE THE BALLAST OR SOMETHING I DID WHEN CHANGING THE COLORWHEEL. I HEAR THE COLORWHEEL COME ON BUT I STILL HAVE NO PICTURE. DO ALL THREE LAMP, BALLAST AND COLOR WHEEL GO BAD TOGETHER? PLEASE IF YOU CAN HELP. THANK YOU

LARRY

So the old lamp works, but not the new one?

This would have nothing to do with the color wheel. Either your new lamp is bad, or the ballast is for some reason not able to fire up the new lamp.
