Wireless Networking Woes

For the past several weeks, I've been having troubles with my wireless network. We have several computers, and while one works well most of the time, two others have had a horrible time keeping their wireless connection.

The setup is somewhat complicated. The network router is a Wireless Belkin and has been in operation for a few years. I've got a second router connected on the network to support my two Vonage phone lines. That configuration is for another post.

As of yesterday, however, nothing works properly. The Belkin router has completely ceased working. It just blinks it's lights off and on in a fairly steady fashion and I'm unable to get it to connect to the WAN, serve up DHCP, or even connect to it's web interface.

I've removed it from the mix completely, and just put the Linksys router on the front-line to the cablemodem. Now THAT won't serve DHCP either. I am able to connect to that router's web admin interface and can change it's configuration, but nothing I can do will get it to serve up DHCP. Nor can I connect to the Internet through it even with manual settings on my computers. The Vonage phone lines do still work.

If I connect my computer (Mac PowerBook G4) directly to the cablemodem, everything works fine.

At this point, things are so crazy, I don't know what component is having the problem.

My next step will be to go buy a new wireless router and start from scratch. On the way there, I'm going to stop by the local coffee shop with a wireless lan to make sure my computer connects to that successfully.
